Zion Shad wrote:New Dropship Physics Feed back In my honest opinion I miss the E3 Dropship Physics in comparison to the Precursor Build. I do enjoy the ability to flip and barrel roll, but with the raise in Price, the intense screen shakes (even during the softest of landings) and the wing planed style Physics, Dropship pilots will become more few and far between. I donGÇÖt mind losing my ability to GÇ£SquishGÇ¥ but I did not see any problem with the E3 physics. Maybe have it to where one type of DS Hold this style (like The Vipers) and have another model Dropship hold the E3 physics. They are more Noob friendly and as people advance in their flying they can take on the other which dose feel far more advance. It will grow on me and I will adapt, but hear me out for the new players to DUST that will soon come and if I have to pick one, it would be E3. Look forward to hearing other pilot feedback
I actually made a thread about this already Here But I'll repeat what I said on there.
"With the newest patch I feel the dropship feels more like a makeshift fighter than a dropship.
A vehicle thats meant for troop movement, etc. Shouldnt be zooming/sliding along with great Axis of movements. To keep with relative realism, how the dropships are now would rattle the living crap out of anyone inside them.
How they were before was perfect, they felt heavy, but medium armored, how dropships should feel.
On a side note the new "physics", my ship was terribly hard to control, but I noticed the new map had "wind" or there was a steady gust of wind, which I knew because of the sand blowing across the entire screen constantly, is this part of the new physics where wind effects flying vehicles? If so, sweet, if not.. dropships are worse than I thought.
That being said. Reverting back to how dropships were before, but keeping the new "wind effects how hard it is to control" if that is indeed what it is, and it'll be perfect imo.
The only way I could see the physics changing how they are now, is if in the future they added gunships which are heavier and bigger, etc. and are slower, or bigger dropships which are slower, feel more heavy.
As it is right now though, the dropship simply doesnt feel like a dropship, more like an assault ship wannabe. " |

I started to think this myself in that maybe they put the physic in to test it for "Bombers" or maybe "Fights". If this was the case, a simple heads up is all that would have been needed.
Like I said myself, the dropships feel more like a fighter wannabe than a dropship.
Dropships should be stable/heavy, they're meant to drop in troops, not be agile fighters. The side guns are for self defense, or to orbit a battlefield as a semi support, but they should be slower, more stable, and be able to take a few more hits, since they have to get up into the enemy's face and subject itself to easy shots by AV troops when they're unloading troops or picking up troops.
The physics in place atm, simply do not allow a dropship to act like a dropship or do its job properly. |
